Sunshine Elizabeth Lee

We are so excited to announce the new addition to our family…welcome Sunshine Elizabeth! Our beautiful baby girl was born on Thursday, April 23rd at 1am (almost on earth day). She weighed exactly 7 pounds and was 19 inches long. She is so precious.

This past Thursday was her 2 week check-up. She is a very healthy baby. She now weighs 8 pounds and is 21 inches tall. She is starting to get chubby cheeks and a double chin. She is so cute!

We feel so lucky to have such a wonderful and healthy baby. She pretty much sleeps through the night and barely ever cries. She even sleeps all throughout the day. Our favorite thing about Sunny is that she makes silly faces and smiles a lot…and she loves being wrapped like a little burrito.

The 1st time I saw her.....so amazing

We are now a family of 4: Ben, me, Sunny, & Jack

So tiny!

Her 2nd bath. The 1st one was kind of chaotic. She likes having her head scrubbed.

That's it for now. More pictures to come.

Baby to be Induced Today!

Well, this morning Ben and I went in to see the doctor and things look like they are progressing...yea! We were told the hospital would call us tonight and let us know what time we should go in tomorrow to be induced.

GUESS WHAT??? They just called me and they want me go in in 1 1/2 hours (1pm)! I'm so excited. Ben is taking a nap, he was up playing x-box really late last night, so I think I'll let him sleep for a few more minutes. Wish me luck.

Still No Baby :(

My due date was Wednesday, April 15th and tomorrow I will be 7 days past due.

I have tried everything to help this baby come. Lots of walking, spicy food, etc. I even heard that the dressing in the salad at Olive Garden induces labor, so I tired that. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I thought it was worth a try.

The good news is I'm going to the doctor’s tomorrow and if the baby doesn't come before Thursday I'm going to be induced. I’ll keep you posted. Wish me luck.

One Bedroom Apartment & Baby Room

Sorry, no baby yet :(

Now that that’s out of the way…I thought some of you may want to see our make-shift baby room. Since we're planning on moving to California in June we decided to make things work in our little one-bedroom apartment.

Do you like Ben's decorative touch? We think the hanging backpacks really add to the whole soft/neutral baby look. Does any one person need so many backpacks? I think not ;)

Ben is very handy. Not only is he making our baby’s crib, but he built me this changing table for temporary use (it only cost $15 to make).

Digital Scrapbooking

Learning to digitally scrapbook is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It just seems so much easier than printing off pictures and buying paper, embellishments, etc.

My sister-in-law and I went to this digital scrapbooking open house last weekend. It was amazing! I learned so much in just 1 hour. Here are a few of my first pages.

Getting big...???

Some of you have asked me if I'm getting big. Well...I’ll let you be the judge. Here are the latest pics of me at 38 weeks.

Feeling Domestic

I made these, can you believe it! The 1st thing I made is a "tab blanket." I had never heard of them before, but I guess babies like to play with the ribbons, feel the textures, etc.

Then, later I made this nursing cover. I am really excited about this. It has a piece of boning at the top, so when I'm nursing the baby I can see her. It's also nice because it latches around my neck, that way the baby can't kick off the blanket.

Plus, the other day I was out shopping and I saw almost exactly the same thing for $40! I am so cool! I'm not going to lie, I definitely had some help with these projects (thanks Leslie :)

Baby Shower

So much fun! The shower was beautiful and everything was perfect. Thanks to everyone who helped put it all together and thanks for the great gifts too. It's crazy how many things a baby needs. I'm so excited to be having a girl; the clothes are just soooooo cute.

The food was awesome too, I think I had 4 pieces of cake...but does that surprise anyone? Also, my cute cousin made cupcakes as gifts for everyone, they were totally gourmet. I wish I would have taken a picture. They tasted as good as they looked.

I had to try and stay seated for a lot of the shower, which was really hard. The night before the shower I was having cramps so I went to the hospital just to make sure everything was okay. They hooked me up to a monitor and apparently I was having contractions. I couldn't feel them, but since I was only about 34 weeks they gave me some shots to make them stop. Of course the one weekend I go out of town something weird has to happen.

Anyways, I'm fine now and have been taking it easy this past week. I went to see my midwife today and she said everything looks great! Don't worry Steph I totally plan on making it to the Britney Spears concert on April 14th.

Snowshoeing

Let me start off by saying this is a very safe activity, maybe even safer than walking since I was surrounded by deep, fluffy snow (so don’t worry mom.) I must say at first I wasn't thrilled about going, but Ben really wanted to go. It seems like everything we do these days begins with the rationalization..."I want to go before the baby comes.” It’s like we’re in a race to live as much as we can before the baby.

Anyways, it was tons of fun and great exercise. It’s like you’re on the stair master and you can’t get off even if you want to. The pictures were in taken in the Uinta National Forest, near Park City. It was so beautiful and I highly recommend it. Next I’m going to try cross country skiing, but don’t worry I’ll wait until after the baby :)
